Carolyn & Danny — Cinematic Anniversary Session in Condesa, Mexico City
10 March, 2025
Carolyn and Danny rented a cute boutique hotel in Condesa area, Mexico City where we started our photoshoot. They reached out to me because they wanted to create something cinematic, inspired by Wong Kar-wai’s films and moody night colors. The hotel turned out to be the perfect setting for this kind of cinematic couples session and I am very excited to share this story with you.
It was such a perfect space: we used the stairs, textures, little corners and all the lamps. We played with feathers, and I brought in colorful lights — it was the right moment to start experimenting, shooting through glass with drops of water to create dreamy reflections. The idea was not just to “take pretty pictures”, but to play, explore, and see what kind of visual language would feel most like them.
romantic …intimate… cinematic…
I put some music on, and we talked a lot between shots — about films, travel, and life in Mexico City. At one point we went up to the rooftop, and I kept capturing small, in-between moments that felt like stills from a movie.
creating timeless memories
you’ll cherish forever
After we finished in their hotel, we went for a night walk around the Condesa area. We stopped by a cozy coffee place, sat on the pavement, climbed onto little corners and stairs, and used every bit of light we could find: street lamps, shop windows, car headlights, neon signs.
Walking along a street in Condesa, I found a tiny Chinese restaurant and immediately thought it could be a great option for a cinematic look. I couldn’t have been happier with the result — this yellow and red light was exactly the kind of mood we were aiming to create.
Inspired by Film
I want my photograph to tell a story through every image.I want them to feel real, romantic and timeless.
